North Carolinians can verify the status of their voter registration online using the State Board of Elections Voter Search Tool. Confirm that your registration is active and up-to-date.

COUNTY BOARDS of ELECTIONS (BOE)

The Board of Elections websites for Gaston County and Mecklenburg County have lots of helpful information for voters and candidates. Here are a few things you can do on those sites:

  • Find your polling location and map of your precinct

  • See election dates

  • Review sample ballots

  • Look up data on past elections 

ABSENTEE and EARLY VOTING

Any registered voter can request an absentee ballot from their county Board of Elections prior to the last Tuesday before an election.

Any registered voter may choose to vote in person using One-Stop Absentee Voting which begins the third Thursday before the election and ends the Saturday prior to the election.
